Once upon a time, on an island far, far away, a Red Angus calf was born. Her name was Dora and she was very sick. She could not stand up or drink milk from her mother.

The man who sees everything brought her home for his wife to take care of because otherwise she would have died. Dora had to be fed every four hours using a special feeder with a long tube which went straight to her stomach. She had to take a lot of medicine.

After two weeks Dora felt a lot better, she was able to stand up by herself and learned how to drink from a bottle. Here is a picture of Dora having a nap in the garden.

When Dora grew up she went to live on the ranch with the herd, and eventually she started having calves of her own. She is a good mama. She remembers us and every year she shows us her new calf.
